On a perfect Saturday morning, February 27, 2016 two of the FC Dynamo ROC teams, GU10 and GU12, players and families gathered at Northridge Church Gym to take part in an exciting and fun event.

The girls were broken up into mixed teams and took part in a futsal tournament. Team Hamm, team Wambach, team Akers and team Rampone battled each other in a round robin format before advancing to the playoffs. The competition was fierce with tons of goals scored and even more smiles on player's faces. At the end each player received fun "medals" recognizing their hard work and hustle during the tournament. In between games girls were able to enjoy snacks in the break room while parents enjoyed the coffee provided. At halftimes and in between matches the music "blared" courtesy of a couple excellent "in house" DJs, Chris Valentino and Dan Hetrick.

"We are extremely proud to have coaches that care so much about our players and their development and take the time out of their busy schedules to help put on such a fun event for our families," said FCDR President Meghan Lavrynenko.

The team were advised by coach Joe Valentino and coach Ted Esders who did a great job keeping the play positive for player development with their keen organizational skills and timely pointers. Coaches Carolynn Brooks and Jonathan Brooks, besides lending a hand with excellent coaching, were also able to provide the refereeing skills to the contests.

Coaches Carolynn and Jonathan Brooks did a great job putting a lot of effort into the organization of this fun event with securing the venue, team posters, tournament brackets and scheduling displayed in the break room. "We really enjoyed seeing multiple age groups from our club come together, get to know each other and play some great soccer today. As we continue to to build a strong and competitive club identity among all the teams it was a fantastic opportunity to blend these groups and give the players and families a chance to get to know each other," said Carolynn and Jonathan Brooks.

A big thank you is also due to Northridge Church in Irondequoit for allowing our club to use their facilities for this great event that all the players and families will not soon forget.
