FCDR girls participated in a community project benefiting the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester.

The girls from the GU12 and GU13 teams spent a Sunday afternoon making lap blankets for patients at the Breast Cancer Coalition of Rochester. The lap blankets will be used by cancer patients as they receive chemotherapy treatments.  The girls also had some extra fundraising money and used that to purchase items from the "wish list".

We are very proud of our girls for working with such enthusiasm and learning the importance of contributing to the community.

A group of the girls were able to see where their donations will be put to good use as they dropped off the 16 completed blankets and donations last week. While there, they had the opportunity to take a tour of the BCCR and sit in the conference room to ask questions of the workers about how they help their patients.

A big THANK YOU to Umbereen Mustafa and Amy Peterson for coordinating this service project and to all the parent volunteers who made donations and helped the girls craft. These girls are truly striving to fulfill our club vision of helping to create contributing members of our community.
